My Thoughts
On my bookshelf, I keep a separate collection of books that left a deep impression on me and that I want to revisit again and again throughout my life, and this book is one of them. Although it has been more than 20 years since its publication, it has sold over one million copies and continues to be widely loved. It presents 17 principles about business, money, and a happy life, and is written in a dialogue format, making it easy to read. In particular, through the perspective of a young Japanese man, the content can be understood without difficulty while still delivering meaningful insights.
Among the many things I learned from this book, the most memorable was the idea that the amount and quality of the service I provide determine the level of compensation I receive. In other words, the compensation I receive now reflects the level of value I am currently providing.
