白い恋人パーク
(Shiroi Koibito Park)
Have you ever seen the souvenir cookie called Shiroi Koibito (白い恋人) in Japan?
The name “Shiroi Koibito” can be translated as “White Lover,” evoking the image of a pure and romantic winter-themed gift—perfect for Hokkaido’s snowy landscape.
This cookie, featuring a white box with a blue mountain and snowflakes, is one of the most popular souvenirs from Hokkaido. It’s known for its delicate langue de chat biscuits with a sweet white chocolate filling.
There is a theme park that brings the world of Shiroi Koibito to life—Shiroi Koibito Park. With a fairytale-like European exterior, charming interior spaces, and seasonal gardens, it’s a place where you can enjoy both chocolate and a sense of childhood wonder.
Shiroi Koibito Park: European Fairytale Architecture

Shiroi Koibito Park is so meticulously designed that it feels as if you’ve stepped into a beautiful European castle or a quaint little village. The classic brick buildings, charming window decorations, and sculptures and fountains scattered throughout the gardens create a fairytale-like scene that instantly captures the attention of every visitor.
The park’s iconic clock tower alone gives off a distinctly exotic atmosphere. At the top of every hour, mechanical dolls put on a delightful show accompanied by cheerful music, creating a magical experience that both children and adults can enjoy. In spring and summer, the gardens bloom with colorful flowers, while in winter, the snow-covered landscape transforms the park into something out of a European Christmas village.
More than just a theme park, the exterior of Shiroi Koibito Park stands out as one of Sapporo’s most picturesque and memorable landmarks in all of Hokkaido.
Shiroi Koibito Park: Elegant Grand Staircase

The interior of Shiroi Koibito Park is designed in an elegant and luxurious style that evokes the feeling of stepping into a European castle or palace.
At the heart of the building, a grand staircase immediately draws admiration with its impressive presence. The red carpet that covers the entire staircase, the intricately carved wooden railings, and the floral and green leaf decorations along the banisters create a scene reminiscent of a grand ballroom in a classic film.
Golden chandeliers hang gracefully from the ceiling, and embossed wall reliefs add a touch of fairy-tale charm to the space.
More than just a theme park, this entire setting feels like a work of art—leaving visitors with a lasting impression.
Shiroi Koibito Park: Spotless Cookie Factory

At Shiroi Koibito Park, I had the chance to watch how their popular treats—Shiroi Koibito cookies and moist, fluffy baumkuchen—are made through large glass windows. It was both fascinating and fun to see the dough being baked, shaped, and packaged with such precision, almost like watching a choreographed performance.
What impressed me most was how spotlessly clean and well-maintained the factory interior was. The floors were sparkling with not a speck of dust, and the staff moved efficiently along designated pathways in full sanitary uniforms.
The fact that the entire production process is open to the public shows just how confident they are in their hygiene and quality control. It really gave me the sense that, “If it’s made in a place this clean, I can enjoy these sweets with total peace of mind.”
