Sea Fountain Show at Moerenuma Park
During the day, Moerenuma Park was a place where beautiful natural scenery unfolded under the vast blue sky. But as the sun sets and darkness falls, the artworks scattered throughout the park begin to come alive one by one.
낮의 모에레누마 공원은 탁 트인 파란 하늘 아래, 아름다운 자연 풍경이 펼쳐지는 공간이었습니다. 하지만 해가 지고 어둠이 깔리면, 공원 곳곳의 예술 작품들이 하나둘씩 생명을 얻기 시작합니다.
Among them, what I looked forward to the most was the Sea Fountain show at night. Located at the center of the park, this fountain is not just a simple water feature — it’s a 40-minute performance where music, light, and water come together.
그중에서도 제가 가장 기대했던 것은 바로 밤에 펼쳐지는 “바다의 분수(Sea Fountain)”였습니다. 공원 중앙에서 펼쳐지는 이 분수는 단순한 물놀이 시설이 아니라, 음악과 빛, 물이 어우러진 40분간의 퍼포먼스 아트입니다.

웅장함과 섬세함이 공존하는 그 장면은, 보는 순간 자연스럽게 마음을 빼앗기게 됩니다.
Sea Fountain at Moerenuma Park: A Nighttime Water Show of Light and Sound
The Sea Fountain is a large fountain, 48 meters in diameter, discreetly located at the center of the park and surrounded by a circular grove of larch trees.
바다의 분수는 공원 중심부, 원형으로 조성된 낙엽송 숲에 둘러싸이듯 숨겨진 직경 48m의 대형 분수입니다.
There are two programs: a 40-minute long program and a 15-minute short program, each performed 2 to 4 times a day.
40분짜리 롱 프로그램과 15분짜리 쇼트 프로그램이 있으며, 하루 2~4회 운영됩니다.
The long program is structured like a story. Powerful jets shoot up to 25 meters high, and at times, the entire surface of the water swells and rises in waves — a majestic and overwhelming display that captivates the viewer.
롱 프로그램은 하나의 이야기처럼 구성되어 있으며, 물줄기가 25m까지 솟구치거나 수면 전체가 출렁이며 차오르는 장면은 웅장하고 압도적인 스케일로 시선을 사로잡습니다.
Photos can’t fully capture it — when you see it in person, you’ll be awestruck by its scale and grandeur.
사진에는 다 담기지 않지만, 실제로 보면 그 크기와 웅장함에 넋을 놓게 될 것입니다.
Tips for Visiting Moerenuma Park
1. Bring a light jacket for evening visits
Since Sapporo is generally a cool region, it can get quite chilly after sunset — even in August, during midsummer. If you plan to watch the Sea Fountain show in the evening, it’s a good idea to bring a light jacket.

삿포로는 기본적으로 기온이 낮은 지역이기 때문에, 8월 한여름에도 해가 지면 꽤 쌀쌀했습니다. 저녁에 “바다의 분수” 공연을 관람할 예정이라면, 가벼운 겉옷을 준비하는 것이 좋습니다.
2. The Sea Fountain may be canceled depending on weather or season
If it’s too windy or cold, the fountain show might not run.
It’s a good idea to check the official website for the latest operating schedule before your visit.
2. “바다의 분수”는 날씨나 계절에 따라 미운영일 수 있음
분수 프로그램은 바람이 너무 세거나 기온이 낮은 날에는 중단될 수 있습니다.
특히 비나 눈이 오는 날에는 가동되지 않을 가능성이 높으니, 홈페이지에서 당일 운영 여부를 확인하는 것이 좋습니다.
3. You can take great photos without a tripod
The Sea Fountain is brightly lit, and there are railings or low walls around where you can steady your hands or phone. If you have a night mode on your phone, use it — you’ll be surprised at how well it captures the moment.
3. 삼각대 없이도 충분히 사진 잘 찍힙니다.
바다의 분수는 조명이 밝아서 야경 촬영이 어렵지 않습니다. 주변 난간이나 벤치를 활용하면 손떨림도 어느 정도 보완되고, 휴대폰의 야간 모드를 활용하면 꽤 멋진 사진을 남길 수 있습니다.
4. Arrive a bit early to get a good viewing spot
There are no reserved seats, and the best views are from the central side of the fountain.
Arriving 10–15 minutes early will help you enjoy the show with an unobstructed view.
4. 좋은 자리에서 보고 싶다면 조금 일찍 도착하기
좌석이 정해져 있는 건 아니지만, 중심 쪽에서 보는 게 가장 시야가 좋습니다.
10~15분 정도 여유 있게 가면, 편하게 자리 잡고 공연을 감상할 수 있습니다.
