(Kimetsu no Yaiba)
In Japanese, “Kimetsu(鬼滅)” means “to slay demons,” and “Yaiba(刃)” refers to “blade” or “sword.” Together, the title “Kimetsu no Yaiba” can be translated as “Blade of Demon Destruction.”
일본어로 “키메츠(鬼滅)”는 “악마(귀)를 멸한다”는 뜻이고, “야이바(刃)”는 “칼날” 또는 “검”을 의미합니다. 따라서 “귀멸의 칼날(Kimetsu no Yaiba)”은 직역하면 “악마를 멸하는 검” 또는 “귀살의 검”이라는 의미가 됩니다.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is a popular Japanese anime and manga series that follows a young boy named Tanjiro Kamado, who becomes a demon slayer after his family is killed by demons and his sister Nezuko is turned into one. The story is known for its emotional depth, stunning animation, and intense battles between humans and demons.

(Infinity Castle Arc – Part 1: Akaza’s Return)
After the release of the Mugen Train Arc on October 16, 2020, which featured the fierce battle between the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, and Upper Rank Three demon, Akaza, the new installment “Infinity Castle Arc – Part 1: Akaza’s Return” premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025.
2020년 10월 16일, 염주(炎柱) 렌고쿠 쿄쥬로(煉獄杏寿郎)와 상현의 3(上弦の参) 아카자(猗窩座)의 격전을 그린 “무한열차편”이 개봉한 이후, 2025년 7월 18일 일본에서 “무한성편 제1장: 아카자 재래”가 개봉하였습니다.
I usually watch movies at TOHO Cinemas, and this time as well, I booked and watched the movie there.
To celebrate the release of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc, a memorial popcorn box was also on sale, but when I visited, it was already sold out.
저는 평소에 토호 시네마에서 영화를 자주 보는데, 이번에도 토호 시네마에서 예매해 관람했습니다.
이번 귀멸의 칼날 무한성편 개봉에 맞춰 메모리얼 팝콘 박스도 판매되었는데, 제가 방문했을 때는 이미 재고가 모두 소진된 상태였습니다.
This TOHO Cinemas is located in the Hankyu Department Store Men’s Building in Umeda. As soon as I entered, I was greeted in the main lobby by a poster of Demon Slayer, featuring Kamado Tanjiro and Giyu, the Water Hashira, for the film released today.
이곳은 우메다 한큐백화점 멘즈관에 위치한 토호 시네마입니다. 입구를 들어서자마자, 메인 로비에서 오늘 개봉한 귀멸의 칼날 영화 포스터 속 카마도 탄지로와 물의 호흡을 쓰는 기유가 반겨주고 있었습니다.
There were various photo spots set up, making it a great place to take commemorative pictures.
다양한 포토존이 마련되어 있어 기념사진을 찍기에도 좋은 장소라고 느꼈습니다.

귀멸의 칼날 캐릭터 굿즈가 워낙 다양해서 무엇을 살지 한참을 고민하게 됩니다.
However, due to the immense popularity of Demon Slayer in Japan, there were strict purchasing limits. Each person was allowed to purchase one pamphlet, and for all other goods, only one item per person per product could be bought in a single transaction.
하지만 일본에서도 귀멸의 칼날의 인기는 대단해서, 굿즈 구매에는 엄격한 제한이 있었습니다. 팜플렛은 1인당 1권까지 구매 가능했고, 그 외의 굿즈는 모든 상품이 1회 계산 시 1인당 1개씩만 구매할 수 있었습니다.
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Arc: Worth Watching Three Times Over
Every time a Demon Slayer movie is released, they give out a special entry gift to theatergoers. When the Mugen Train Arc was released in theaters, the entry bonus changed with each season even for the same film.

저번 무한열차편에서는 같은 영화라도 시즌마다 다른 특전이 주어졌던 기억이 납니다.
My favorite character is Inosuke, one of the main hero’s companions—but I also really love Akaza. So I was especially thrilled that this new film focused on Akaza’s story.
저는 주인공의 동료인 이노스케를 가장 좋아하지만, 아카자도 정말 좋아하는 캐릭터입니다. 이번 영화가 아카자의 이야기를 중심으로 다뤘기 때문에 특히 더 기뻤습니다.
The theater I went to had premium seating and Dolby Atmos sound,
which made the experience even more immersive with both stunning visuals and powerful audio. During the battle scenes, I found myself holding my breath, completely forgetting about my popcorn.
제가 관람한 영화관은 프리미엄 좌석에 돌비 애트모스(Dolby Atmos) 사운드가 적용된 상영관이었는데, 화려한 영상뿐 아니라 압도적인 음향 덕분에 더욱 깊이 몰입할 수 있었습니다.
특히 전투 장면에서는 팝콘 먹는 것도 잊고 숨을 죽인 채 집중하고 있었습니다.
Living in Japan and being able to understand Japanese made me feel truly grateful. To watch, hear, and fully feel the emotion of such a masterpiece in its original form is a real gift.
일본에 살면서 일본어를 이해할 수 있다는 사실이 새삼 감사하게 느껴졌습니다. 이렇게 최고의 애니메이션을 원어 그대로 보고, 듣고, 그 감동을 온전히 느낄 수 있다는 건 정말 큰 축복입니다.
Not only does Demon Slayer deliver an engaging story, but it also showcases just how incredible Japanese animation techniques are—truly a film worth watching two more times.
귀멸의 칼날의 흥미로운 스토리뿐만 아니라, 일본 애니메이션 기술이 얼마나 놀라운지를 느낄 수 있는, 앞으로 두 번은 더 봐야 할 최고의 영화입니다.
